Job Summary:
Our client, a shipping equipment company looking for a Senior Accountant to be based in Dubai.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full accounting cycle, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Coordinate the daily activities of the accounting team and support the Finance Manager in achieving departmental objectives.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Monitor and maintain the general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives.
- Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors and support audit activities.
- Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, inventory, and cash flow.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 5–7 years of experience in a Senior Accountant or similar position.
- Experience working in a medium to large organization with an annual turnover of approximately AED 100–150 million or above.
- End-to-end exposure across the accounting function, including financial reporting, budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis.
- Experience coordinating or supervising an accounting team while reporting to a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
