Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchase Officer to manage procurement activities for our catering operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing high-quality food ingredients, kitchen supplies, and other materials at competitive prices while maintaining vendor relationships and ensuring timely delivery to support catering events and kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Planning:
    Coordinate with chefs, kitchen staff, and event planners to determine purchasing needs based on menus and event schedules.
  • Vendor Management:
    Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
  • Order Management:
    Prepare purchase orders, track shipments, and ensure goods are delivered on time and in good condition.
  • Quality Assurance:
    Inspect goods received and ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Inventory Coordination:
    Monitor stock levels and place orders to maintain optimal inventory levels without overstocking.
  • Cost Control:
    Monitor market trends and pricing to make cost-effective purchasing decisions and contribute to budget control.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance. Prepare regular procurement reports for management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of purchasing experience, preferably in the food and catering industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and procurement software.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and perishables handling.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
