The position is for the firm’s office in Abu Dhabi, the candidate should be able to control the Dubai and Abu Dhabi accounting daily work and tasks, while handling weekly/monthly closing procedures, and assisting the Chief Accountant located in Lebanon.
• Post journal entries into the accounting system (payments, bank transactions, closing entries, etc.).
• Prepare and review accounting entries; facilitate the review and approval process with the Chief Accountant and Director of Administration & Finance.
• Prepare cheques, transfers, and online banking transactions for management approval.
• Execute payments, including salary payments, when applicable; post salary transactions and payments into the accounting system based on the calculations and instructions from the Chief Accountant.
• Prepare and post accruals and prepayments into the accounting system, in coordination with the Chief Accountant, ensuring proper reallocation between the P&L and balance sheet over future periods.
• Monitor the reversal of accruals upon receipt and booking of invoices to prevent overstating expenses.
• Review the accuracy of bad debt provisions.
• Prepare, maintain, and review the fixed assets registry.
• Receive any fixed assets/materials ordered by the department under the supervision of the Chief Accountant and Director of Administration & Finance.
• Follow up with other departments to obtain their delivery notes for assets.
• Manage transactions related to management and related parties and review the corresponding entries in the accounting system.
• Ensure proper allocation of revenues and expenses into different budget lines and/or categories.
• Review all transactions posted into the accounting system daily, validating each entry along with the supporting documents, in compliance with Lebanese law and A&A’s internal policies.
• Prepare bank and other reconciliations and provide reports to management based on specific requests.
• Perform other accounting and administrative tasks, including preparing cover letters, payroll, expense orders, updating databases, etc., before deadlines and as requested by the Chief Accountant and Director of Administration & Finance.
• Assist in preparing the AML report and ensure all account openings comply with AML requirements.
• Prepare VAT declarations for Dubai and Abu Dhabi and coordinate with the tax advisors for the corporate tax filing.
• Coordinate with lawyers to record their timesheet entries, extract reports, and prepare monthly invoices aligned with signed engagement letters.
