Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee and manage all financial operations within our Client trading company. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective management of day-to-day accounting functions such as inventory costing, accounts payable/receivable (AP/AR), and taxation. Experience in the trading sector, particularly with import/export and multi-currency transactions, is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Operations Management:
- Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger management, AP/AR, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with local regulations and international standards (IFRS or local GAAP).
- Inventory Accounting & Costing:
- Monitor and manage inventory accounting, costing, and valuation specific to trading activities.
- Taxation & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT, corporate tax, and import duties.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies to ensure timely and accurate filings.
- Financial Analysis & Decision Support:
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior management to support business decisions, investment strategies, and risk management.
- Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow:
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning in coordination with senior management.
- Provide regular financial performance reports and variance analysis.
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior accounting staff to ensure a high-performing team.
- Continuously assess and improve internal controls, processes, and accounting practices.
- Collaboration with Other Departments:
- Work closely with logistics and procurement teams to ensure accurate financial tracking of goods movement.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of transactions related to the movement of goods and inventory.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA/CA or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience, preferably in a trading or import/export environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of IFRS or local GAAP, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems).
- Financial Expertise: Ability to handle multi-currency transactions and navigate international banking procedures.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management capabilities with the ability to lead by example and drive improvements in processes.
- Communication & Analytical Skills: Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills with an ability to present complex financial data to senior leadership.
