SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER   (34928)

 

The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and management of mechanical systems. This role involves ensuring that all mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, meet design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. The Senior Mechanical Engineer provides technical expertise, oversees project execution, and ensures seamless collaboration with other engineering disciplines.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed mechanical designs and specifications for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.

• Review and approve mechanical drawings, material submittals, and technical documents.

• Ensure designs comply with project requirements, industry standards, and local regulations.

• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and electrical engineers to integrate mechanical systems into overall designs.

• Provide technical guidance to project teams and contractors during installation and commissioning phases.

• Monitor project progress and address any design or execution challenges.

• Conduct inspections of mechanical installations to ensure adherence to approved designs and quality standards.

• Identify and resolve non-conformances and recommend corrective actions.

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards in all mechanical works.

• Assist in preparing project budgets and cost estimates for mechanical systems.

• Optimize resource allocation to ensure cost-efficiency without compromising quality.

• Coordinate with procurement teams to source mechanical materials and equipment.

• Oversee testing and commissioning of mechanical systems to ensure proper functionality and performance.

• Address any issues identified during commissioning and ensure timely resolution.

• Prepare detailed commissioning reports and as-built documentation.

• Maintain accurate records of mechanical designs, inspections, and modifications.

• Prepare and submit progress reports, highlighting challenges, solutions, and milestones to the Projects Manager.

• Contribute to the preparation of technical manuals and maintenance guidelines for mechanical systems.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. A master’s degree is an advantage.

Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on construction projects.

Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certifications are preferred.

Skills: Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Autodesk, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and installation techniques.
