Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced General Chef with strong knowledge of Arabic and Western cuisines to work in a private residence. The ideal candidate should be skilled in menu planning, food preparation, kitchen management, and hygiene standards. The role requires hands-on cooking expertise, staff supervision, inventory control, and strict adherence to food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare meals according to approved menu specifications and quality standards
- Measure, portion, and assemble ingredients accurately
- Develop and introduce new menu items based on seasonal availability and client preferences
- Assist in meal planning and menu design in coordination with senior kitchen staff
- Supervise daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth workflow
- Guide and support junior kitchen staff in food preparation, line cooking, and dish presentation
- Train new employees on cooking methods, hygiene practices, and safety standards
- Prepare and manage kitchen staff schedules and shifts
- Order food supplies, raw materials, and kitchen essentials as required
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO method)
- Maintain accurate stock records and minimize food wastage
- Ensure strict compliance with food hygiene, sanitation, and safety regulations
- Monitor cleanliness of kitchen areas, storage facilities, and equipment
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of kitchen tools and equipment
- Follow all safety procedures and report any unsafe acts, conditions, or incidents
- Properly use and care for all provided personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Monitor kitchen equipment performance and report maintenance needs
- Ensure safe handling and storage of food and kitchen equipment
