Job Summary:
Our client, an international planning, engineering and architectural firm is looking for a Accountant to be based in Dubai.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and ledger maintenance
- Issue invoices and process incoming payments (accounts receivable)
- Process vendor invoices and execute payments (accounts payable)
- Manage revenue recognition in accordance with IFRS and company policies
- Conduct cost accounting and monitor project profitability
- Support project budgeting and proposal preparation at the RFP stage, including man-hour estimation and fee calculation
- Prepare budgets and support financial planning processes
- Monitor actual vs. budget performance and provide variance analysis
- Prepare profit & loss forecasts and cash flow forecasts
- Take proactive actions based on financial performance (e.g., receivable collection follow-ups, cost control measures)
- Manage cash management and fund allocation, including monitoring cash position and optimizing fund usage
- Manage bank accounts, including payment processing, balance monitoring, and cash position tracking
- Ensure compliance with UAE tax regulations (VAT, Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing)
- Support accounting aspects of corporate restructuring and organizational changes
- Utilize Zoho Books and Microsoft Excel for accounting operations and reporting
- Coordinate monthly closing with external accounting firms and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes
- Communicate and coordinate with external accounting firms, tax advisors, and consultants
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes
- Identify and support improvements in accounting processes and system usage
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience (UAE experience preferred)
- Strong hands-on experience in journal entries and accounting operations
- Basic knowledge of IFRS
- Experience with accounting systems (ERP)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of UAE tax regulations (VAT, Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing)
- Practical experience in cost accounting and revenue recognition
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable operations
- Business-level English communication skills
