RISK & INSURANCE SPECIALIST   (31601)

Our client, an energy logistics solutions company is looking for a Risk & Insurance Specialist. 

 

Reporting to: Head – Risk & Compliance / Group CFO

 

JOB PURPOSE:

  • Manage the overall Insurance portfolio of the Group with an understanding of how to use the Risk Management Framework to plan and execute Insurance as one of the Risk Management Strategy for the Organization’s Risks.
  • To support the development of the Risk Management framework across the Group and to advise the business leads on Risk Management best practices.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Risk Management Role

  • Support the development Risk Management tools across the organization
  • Facilitate risk assessments with the Business / Process Owner, especially with respect to contractual and counter-party risks
  • Serve as an advisor on Risk Management for internal stakeholders
  • Co-ordinate with the Internal Audit Function to support development of Risk-based Internal Audit Plans
  • Apart from the duties and responsibilities listed above, any other additional duties as advised by the reporting manager from time to time.

 

Insurance Role

  • Develop, update and monitor the insurance procedures for the Group, including Incident reporting and related Insurance claims
  • Manage and improve the complex Insurance portfolio of the Group, which includes Property, Facilities, Shipping, Remote Locations, Port Activities, Trucking and Transportation, Environmental Liabilities at Sea and at Land, Fidelity, etc
  • Support Business units in recommending and implementing Insurance as a Risk Management Strategy
  • Review contractual documents and provide advice to the respective Business Units on the Insurance requirements 
  • Source, liaise and coordinate with Insurance providers, Intermediaries & advisors in negotiating the most appropriate and beneficial Insurance arrangements for the Group
  • Review and finalize Insurance policy clauses (including but not limited to deductibles, exclusions, etc) along with Insurance providers, Intermediaries and advisors
  • Continuously review the Insurance arrangements and recommend changes and improvements for the same, including timely renewals.
  • Co-ordinate insurance claims with the respective Insurance providers / Intermediaries and ensure all documentation requirements in coordination with the respective Business Owners
  • Coordinate and lead Regular meetings with Insurance Companies, Loss Adjustors & Solicitors to settle insurance claim disputes, if any
  • Support the Human Resource Department in managing the overall Medical / Workmen compensation and Life Insurance Program for the Group Personnel, worldwide
  • Oversee the maintenance of all Insurance records with the assistance of the Insurance Coordinator
  • Provide awareness training to Business units and support departments regarding Insurance
  • Provide periodic compliance report on the adequacy of the Group’s Insurance arrangements
  • Apart from the duties and responsibilities listed above, any other additional duties as advised by the reporting manager from time to time.

 

VACATION REPLACEMENT

  • Day to day activities related to Insurance shall be managed by the Insurance coordinator

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 

 

Educational Qualification(s):

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree with appropriate Insurance Certification Courses (CII, IRMI, etc) desirable

 

Prior Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years in Commercial Insurance underwriting / sales or managing the Insurance portfolio in an organization with multi-location and operating in remote geographies
  • Minimum 2  years of experience in a Risk Management Department in a large organization is desirable

 

Computer Knowledge

  • Excellent knowledge in using MS Excel as a data crunching tool
  • Working knowledge of the latest tools in Risk management
